Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Effective Date: October 5, 2026
At WebcamClicks (accessible at webcamclicks.com), your privacy is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy document describes what information is collected and how it is used when you interact with our website, webcam effects, video recorder, and browser games.
1. Zero Server Uploads: Camera, Video & Photos Stay in Your Browser
WebcamClicks is an entirely client-side web application built with HTML5, Canvas 2D, and the MediaRecorder API. When you grant permission for camera access:
- The live video stream is rendered and processed strictly in your browser memory on your physical device.
- We NEVER record, upload, monitor, stream, or transmit your video feed, photos, or audio to any server.
- When you click Capture Photo or Record Video, the resulting JPEG snapshot or WebM/MP4 clip is stored exclusively in your browser's private local storage ("Gallery") or saved directly to your device's download folder.
- Closing or reloading the browser page immediately releases your webcam hardware and flushes temporary memory buffers.
2. On-Device Face Detection & Biometrics
Certain visual effects (such as digital crowns, sunglasses, dog ears, facial mesh, and games like Face Pong) utilize real-time computer vision powered by the client-side library face-api.js.
- All model evaluation occurs locally using WebGL and WebAssembly on your device.
- No biometric markers, facial templates, geometry vectors, or identifying data are ever extracted, retained, or sent over the Internet.
- AI feature estimates (such as age, emotion, or gender) are playful approximations generated purely in local memory and are never saved or tied to any identity.
3. Cookies, Web Beacons & Third-Party Advertising
WebcamClicks uses third-party advertising partners, including Google AdSense, to keep our tools 100% free for everyone around the world. These third-party vendors use cookies and web beacons to serve advertisements based on your visits to this website and other websites across the web.
- Google AdSense & DoubleClick DART Cookies: Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Opting Out of Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or Your Online Choices (for European users).
- For more details on how Google handles advertising data, review Google's official documentation: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
4. Local Storage (Device Only)
We use your browser's standard localStorage API solely to preserve your non-personal preferences between visits, including:
- Camera mirror mode (flipped or normal).
- Audio sound effects preference (enabled/disabled).
- Last selected filter and your pinned favorite effects.
- Photos in your temporary local gallery (up to 24 images, compressed client-side).
You can erase all locally stored photos at any time by clicking "Clear all" inside the gallery drawer, or by clearing your browser's cache and site data.
5. Children's Online Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
WebcamClicks is designed as family-friendly entertainment. Because our site performs all image processing and video recording strictly client-side on the user's device and does not require user accounts, email addresses, or names, we do not collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).
6. GDPR, UK DPA & California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
Under regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and CCPA, users have rights regarding their personal data. Because WebcamClicks does not transmit, store, or profile personal data on our servers, there are no server-side databases containing personal user records to access, rectify, or delete.
For advertising choices under GDPR/CCPA, our site deploys Google-certified consent management mechanisms (Consent Mode) to respect your choices regarding cookies and personalized ads.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical enhancements, browser security requirements, or legal standards. Revisions will be published directly on this page with an updated timestamp.
